📱 The new iPhone (you know the one with all the features)
We've repeated the cycle for years now. New phone, the urge to get it, we get it, things don't feel as good as we thought.
Then we sit watching the tech review channels review the new latest phone and we get that little ping of, oooh should I get that instead?
Study after study shows us that dreaming and striving towards material things does not make us happier. And in fact when we get the new toy, because of hedonic adaptation we actually aren't as happy as we expect we might be when we buy it and that feeling of happiness goes away a lot quicker than we expect.
